HOUSE LOURENS

Located in the breathtaking Paradise Coast Nature-Immersed Estate in Mossel Bay the brutalist design sits nestled in the fynbos landscape. A collaboration between Hamilton Wessels Architects and the clients who opted for an off-shutter concrete construction with little to no maintenance. Concrete in its raw state pays homage to the natural ecological landscape while the interior is warm and inviting. The building sits comfortably in the landscape and creates its own micro-climate through carefully engaging with winter and summer sun. Rhythms of the seasons and the tides play on the senses allowing for a nature-immersed environment.
